The artist Ulrich Perathoner comes from a wood sculpting family from the Val Gardena, where this craft developed in the mid-17th century. In those days decorating sculptors passed on their artistic experience to other sculptors who further developed the method and technique and worked out new themes such as sacral motifs. Ulrich Perathoner is one of these sculptors and he has worked successfully as master sculptor since 1972. He started his career at the School of Arts in Ortisei and then honed his artistic skills and knowledge at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. His personal aspirations to hone his artistic skills helped him to establish an internationally leading wood sculpting business.

Ulrich Perathoner's son Daniel Perathoner has also been working in the business since 2003 and is now running it in the second generation with his wife Elisa. He has made a wood sculpting training before attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, from which he graduated with outstanding artistic achievement as a student of the master class. Thus he will have the qualities and qualifications to run such a business: creativity and an excellent training. We design and produce both traditional and modern motifs, religious and secular themes in various sizes and finishes. The ULPE WOOD ART ® collection is successfully exported worldwide. Our certificates guarantees, the items are true original ULPE WOOD ART ® woodcarvings. On request we will also realize sculptures according to the customer’s design and sketch in all sizes, made in wood or bronze.

September 2012 the new head office of the ULPE WOOD ART ® has been inaugurated. Through the positive development of the company, the old building was too small and not up to date. The new location of the ULPE WOOD ART ® is on an important junction at the beginning of Val Gardena, immediately to see from the main street and easy to reach. To highlight again this location there has been launched an architecture contest, different architects participated at the contest. The winner of this contest was the architect studio Bergmeisterwolf with a novel, modern project. The basic concept of the to work wood block, that shows the ULPE WOOD ART ® in their activity as wood sculptors persuaded all. It is a courageous, novel and modern project, at the one Ulrich and Daniel Perathoner have participated with their artistic experience. The new head office has won different international architecture awards and was represented in a lot of international media.
